A library apprentice, a sorcerer prince, and an unbreakable magic bond…
The Solaris Empire is one conquest away from uniting the continent, and the rare elemental magic sleeping in seventeen-year-old library apprentice Vhalla Yarl could shift the tides of war.
Vhalla has always been taught to fear the Tower of Sorcerers, a mysterious magic society, and has been happy in her quiet world of books. But after she unknowingly saves the life of one of the most powerful sorcerers of them all–the Crown Prince Aldrik–she finds herself enticed into his world. Now she must decide her future: Embrace her sorcery and leave the life she’s known, or eradicate her magic and remain as she’s always been. And with powerful forces lurking in the shadows, Vhalla’s indecision could cost her more than she ever imagined.
|Ah! I am hooked on this series after reading this book.
Is it loaded with tropes? Absolutely, but I’m kind of a sucker for the nobody becomes a somebody out of nowhere!
Vhalla is just a librarian who is enlisted to help read/translate some notes that just so happen to be magic! What she doesn’t know is this magic is actually going to help one of the Prince’s heal from a poisoned wound. From there, she’s pulled into a series of events.
Prince Aldrik is mercurial and clever. FYI…per the author he is fashioned after Loki, which made me love him even more! He’s my favorite kind of character…Deep, mysterious, clever, quick witted and dangerous.
I’m hooked on this series now. Not only are the characters phenomenal but so is the plot. I found myself devouring the pages so quickly that I was blinking at the end.
Cannot recommend the series enough.
