My Answers:
- A popular book or series that you didn’t like
Ugh…. One instance where I actually prefer the movie to the book! My sister begged me to read this series with her so she would have someone to wail with. So I did and I regretted every blessed moment. It hurt me to actually read these books. My sister loved it…
- A popular book that everyone hates but you love
Warm Bodies. Before it was a movie, before anyone was talking about it… I picked up this book and loved it. I don’t know.. a romanticized zombie book intrigued me. It was different, it was unique and a unique take on “Zombie-ism.” It’s still one of those reads that I chuckle over… and the funnier part is I got my mother hooked on the book so much she [a 50 year old woman,] brought it to her Book Club and made it the book of the month to read. Go Mum!
- A love triangle where your ship did not sail
Ruin & Rising. My ship did not sail and without giving it away…. I think I choked up.
- A popular genre that you hardly reach for
A genre I don’t reach for, well that’s tough, but generally I don’t read much contemporary, but I will. Non-fiction isn’t something I typically go for and neither is mystery.
Something I’ve never read?

- A beloved character you didn’t like
Cinder. That’s a tough one and I’m sure later I’m going to be going AH! You should have used this one instead! But I really couldn’t stand Cinder from the Lunar Chronicles. It’s a series that I’ve grudgingly read ONE AND A HALF books out of…
- A popular author you can’t get into
J.K. Rowling. I don’t know, maybe that is unfair because I’ve never read her work. There is so much hype surrounding the books that I just find myself iffy about picking them up. Maybe Marissa Meyer would be a better choice!
- A popular book series you have no interest in reading
Harry Potter. Percy Jackson I’ll probably pick up and read here and there, but Harry Potter…eergh I just don’t know.
- An adaptation you like better than the book
Maze Runner! There were definitely things I liked better in the movie than in the book, considering I thought the books were horrid. There were some bits that were really important that they botched and to me didn’t make sense. BUT…. the movies are far better than the series.

Interesting opinions 😉 I would definitely recommend Harry Potter though! Please don’t be put off by the hype. I thought like that when everyone was reading it when I was a kid, and then one night I was looking for absolutely anything to read and picked up my friend’s copy of Prisoner of Azkaban. Changed my life!

Thanks, I figured that my views would fit in with the Unpopular crowd… 😉
Perhaps down the line when my TBR list is much smaller [ha, ha, ha!] I will consider picking up the series. Maybe if I find one of the books at my local library for .25. I’ve heard quite a few people who finally gave in to reading it gush about it. It’s just one that I’m kind of poking with my finger and wondering…. 😉
Thanks for the recommendation! I’ll keep it in mind.

Great Post!
I actually have been meaning to read “Warm Bodies”, but I still haven’t gotten around to do it. The Bardugo series? That is actually the reason I don’t think I am ever going to read it. From all the reviews I’ve read I also think that I would feel the way you do, so I’m not even going to waste my time with it.
As for Harry Potter, I read the first two books when they were released, but I couldn’t get into them.
Cinder? NO!! 😉

Thanks Susana!
Warm Bodies wasn’t the BEST written book. But, it was almost like a Romeo & Juliet but with Zombies… I know a lot of people thought it ridiculous, but …. it’s a Zombie book, what else do you want? Plus, Isaac Marion knows how to write humor without being cheesy.
Grisha Trilogy I enjoyed, but probably not on the same level as everyone else. The love triangle was horrendous and frustrating for me… especially when my ship never sailed. 😐
WELL! See, that’s what I’m afraid of, if I NEVER pick up HP then I can just be the freak that never read it. But! If I pick it up and really don’t like it… I’ll be flamed to Hades! 😉
Cinder + *insert cast here* – I just couldn’t get into any of those characters… Wolf was the one I liked the most. I haven’t even read the series in order. I’m halfway through Winter. I’ve only read Scarlet before Winter. These are audiobooks I’m picking up through my library on Overdrive and I happen to listen while I fold laundry, cook, color or run on the treadmill. Providing there isn’t a 10 person ahead of me waiting list. 😀
